Visit with support

You can come to the Parrot Centre even when the child or family does not pay for the visit. A school can use the Culture Backpack, and people who care can gift a visit to a group that could not come otherwise.

Children with parrots at the Parrot Centre

Culture Backpack

The Culture Backpack (Kultuuriranits) is a Ministry of Culture grant in every general-education school’s budget. Pupils in grades 1–9 can use it for curriculum-related cultural visits. The Parrot Centre is on the Ministry of Culture website, in the list Museums in Tartu County.

Programmes

Our learning programmes follow the national curriculum. The full description, including learning outcomes, is in the national environmental education portal keskkonnaharidus.ee.

Thoughtful programme — cloudberry mark

Cloudberry mark “Thoughtful programme”

A quality mark from the Estonian Environmental Education Association. External assessors award it to a programme that meets the quality criteria for environmental education.

Support from your municipality

We want families, groups of children and older people to be able to come to the Parrot Centre even when a visit would otherwise be too much. That is why we have applied to neighbouring municipalities, so they can support visits by their residents.

If a municipality decides to support what we do, we will add here which residents the support covers and how to use it.

Could your municipality help? Tell them you would like this, or write to us at keskus@papagoi.ee and we will get in touch.

Gift a visit

Many kindergartens, groups of children with special needs and smaller schools cannot pay for a visit. The Culture Backpack does not cover everyone. If you want a group to meet the parrots, you can gift their visit.
